How we worked this out.
Widely reported Google research found that the chance of someone leaving rises sharply as a phone page goes from 1 to 3 seconds and beyond. Most people leave if a page takes more than about three seconds.
We don't use those headline numbers. We use smaller, cautious ones, and show a range instead of one number.
- Our assumption: for every second a page takes beyond the first, an extra 5% (low estimate) to 10% (high estimate) of visitors leave before it opens. We never count more than half of your visitors as lost.
- Of the visitors who stay, your chosen share would get in touch.
- We assume only half of the people who get in touch go on to book, to keep things cautious.
- Booked sessions are new clients times your average sessions per client.
